# Bypass DataDome — OpenScraper DataDome Unlocker

*HTML page: https://openscraper.ai/datadome-unlocker · Agent index: https://openscraper.ai/llms.txt*

> Bypass DataDome on any website. The OpenScraper Unlocker resolves the DataDome CAPTCHA automatically, renders the JavaScript and returns the real HTML of the page, with a 99% success rate. You only pay for successful requests.

## What it does

The Unlocker fetches any DataDome-protected URL and gives you back the page itself — not the interstitial. One API call handles the proof of browser, the CAPTCHA, the residential exit IP and the JavaScript rendering.

- Automatically resolves the DataDome CAPTCHA
- Returns the real HTML of the page
- Renders JavaScript in a real Chromium
- 99% success rate on DataDome
- Generates our own proof of browser

## How the DataDome bypass works

DataDome does not block a request, it scores a visitor. So the Unlocker does not hide a bot — it makes each request be what it claims to be.

1. **Proof of browser.** DataDome scores the signals its client-side tag collects: canvas and WebGL rendering, audio stack, fonts, screen and device metrics, event timings, plus the TLS/JA3 handshake and HTTP/2 frame order underneath. We do not spoof those strings — our stack produces them the way a real browser does, so DataDome issues a valid `datadome` cookie instead of a 403.
2. **CAPTCHA resolution.** The slider puzzle from `captcha-delivery.com` and the device-check page are solved inline, in real time. No third-party solver key, no manual step; the API answers once the challenge is cleared.
3. **JavaScript rendering.** The page runs in a full Chromium, so DataDome's own script executes as it would on a real visit and post-hydration content is in the HTML returned. Set `headless: false` for a raw, faster HTTP fetch.
4. **Residential IP rotation.** Exits in 195+ countries, selected with the `geo` parameter — for geo-fenced content and for sites that reject datacenter ranges.
5. **The real page back.** HTTP 200 and the full document, parsed with whatever you already use. Blocked requests are not billed.

| Bright Data | 91.3% |
| Decodo | 86.4% |
| Oxylabs | 86.2% |
| Smartproxy | 75.0% |

## Pricing

## Using it from the API

The Unlocker is the `unlocker_matrix` module of the OpenScraper API. It returns exactly one result and is best called synchronously.

```bash
curl -X POST https://api.openscraper.ai/runs \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer sk_live_xxx" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "module": "unlocker_matrix",
    "params": { "url": "https://datadome-protected-site.com/listing", "geo": "United States", "headless": true },
    "sync": true
  }'
```

| Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `url` | string | yes | — | The target URL to unlock. |
| `geo` | string | no | `France` | Proxy geolocation used for the request. |
| `headless` | boolean | no | `true` | Render JavaScript before returning the HTML. Disable for a raw, faster HTTP fetch. |

The response carries `url`, `status_code`, `content_type` and `result_url`; the page body is downloaded from `result_url` with the same Bearer auth. Full reference: <https://openscraper.ai/docs.md>.

## FAQ

**How do you bypass DataDome?** Not by patching or exploiting it. Every request runs on a real browser stack whose fingerprint, TLS handshake and behavioural signals are consistent, exits through a residential IP, and clears the CAPTCHA automatically when one is served. DataDome scores the session as human and returns the page.

**Does the DataDome CAPTCHA get solved automatically?** Yes — the slider puzzle and device-check page are resolved before the API responds. No solver subscription, no detection code on your side.

**Can I bypass DataDome with Puppeteer or Playwright stealth plugins?** Rarely, and not for long. Stealth plugins patch a list of known automation tells, while DataDome fingerprints the whole stack and scores the combination. A patched headless browser on a datacenter IP is usually flagged on the first request.

**What is the `datadome` cookie?** The token DataDome issues once it considers a session legitimate; it carries the session's trust score and is replayed on every subsequent request. Without a valid one you get a 403 or the CAPTCHA page.

**Why do I get a 403 "You have been blocked" page?** That is DataDome's hard block: fingerprint, IP reputation or request rate pushed the session score past the threshold. Rotating the user agent does not lift it — the user agent is one signal among dozens.

**How much does it cost?** $0.95 per 1,000 requests, $0.81 with a subscription. Failed requests are not billed. New accounts get $5 of free credit, no card required.

**Is bypassing DataDome legal?** Scraping publicly accessible data is broadly lawful in the EU and the US, but the responsibility for what is collected is the caller's: site terms of service, applicable law and the GDPR when personal data is involved. OpenScraper provides the access layer; it does not scrape on your behalf and does not host the data.
