# Connect ChatGPT to Leboncoin Data — OpenScraper

## How it works

### ChatGPT (browser), no code

1. In ChatGPT, open **Settings → Security and login** and turn on **Developer mode**.
2. Open <https://chatgpt.com/plugins>, click **+**, then **“Add custom MCP server”**.
3. Name it “OpenScraper”, paste the URL `https://mcp.openscraper.ai/mcp` and pick **OAuth** as the authentication.
4. Accept the warning, click **“Create as a plugin”** and sign in with your OpenScraper account.
5. In a new chat, type `@`, pick OpenScraper and ask your question.

Developer mode isn't offered on every ChatGPT plan, and its place in the settings has moved before. In a company workspace, an admin may have to allow custom MCP servers first.

Copy your OpenScraper API key (`sk_live_…`) from the dashboard, then declare our server as an `mcp` tool in a Responses API call:

## FAQ

**Can ChatGPT read Leboncoin listings on its own?** No. leboncoin.fr is protected by an anti-bot (DataDome) that blocks automated requests, ChatGPT's web browsing included. It needs an external tool that fetches the listings on its behalf.

**How does ChatGPT retrieve Leboncoin listings?** Once our MCP server is connected, ChatGPT goes through OpenScraper's infrastructure, which handles the anti-bot and returns the Leboncoin listings as structured data, ready to be used in its answers.
